Homeschool Tutorial Teachers
If you teach or lead at a homeschool co-op, community, or tutorial I wanted to share lesson plans and activities I've done in these settings to help you with your own planning.
I have been a director, leader, and teacher at several different types of homeschool groups. I've taught all ages and a range of subjects in addition to homeschooling my own 4 of course.
As a teacher at a homeschool tutorial I realized that lesson planning was a lot different than it was when I was a classroom teacher in public school. Mostly because what you're able to teach when you only see your students once a week and not all day every day means you have to be very selective on what you teach from your subject. Then you have to guide their work the other 4 days of the week at home in partnership with their parents. Obviously these things will change how you plan.
Therefore when I would look online for lessons and ideas for teaching the resources I found online geared toward public and private schools meeting daily didn't always translate well. I ended up making my own curriculum for what I was teaching and figured I could offer those on this website so that other teachers and homeschoolers didn't have to reinvent the wheel.
There isn't much I enjoy more than lesson planning, so it's so exciting for me to share these ideas! So, please look through the posts and adapt what you can for your own homeschool or homeschool group.
